October 2018 Saint Faith’s News
I am writing this after September’s successful Coffee Morning; it was a joy to see the Barnabas Room buzzing with people chatting and laughing! Refreshments were so busy that an emergency dash to the shops was needed to stock up! The morning marked the beginning of our Patronal celebrations. It was lovely to welcome so many from the local community as well as raising £222 for church funds. Our next fundraiser for the church will be at the Saint Mary’s Autumn Fayre on Saturday 20th October.
Celebrations continued at our Patronal as we celebrated the witness of Saint Faith and our witness to the community. As part of that celebration, we gave a token of thanks to Rose Eden for her contribution to Saint Faith’s. After many years of service she has decided to step down from her duties as sacristan extraordinaire! We are grateful to her and trust that she will now be able to have a well-earned rest!
There is always a buzz of excitement when Arundel Court School visits Saint Faith’s. At the beginning of the month, Year 2 visited to learn about Baptism. Later this month, Father Marcus will welcome the school for their Harvest celebrations. We are so fortunate to have a close link with the school and value all that we do and share together.
Saint Faith’s continues to be a busy place. The DCC meets in October to hear more about life in the community and in church, and to make plans for future months. Members of Saint Faith’s are welcome to attend these meetings, so please come along on Tuesday 16th October to learn more!
