‘Robin Hood & the Singing Nun!’ Panto at St Wilfrid’s
St Mary’s Parish Panto is “Robin Hood and the Singing Nun”. Come and enjoy a traditional panto and see members of the Parish enjoying themselves – including “spot the clergy” in disguise on stage. Performances at 2.30pm and 7pm. Tickets cost £4 or £2 for under 16’s, and are available at all 3 churches, or book yours on 023 9281 4444.

A Caribbean Party & Pancake Races at St Mary’s
A celebration for Shrove Tuesday with Caribbean food, music and dancing and pancake races. A fun night for all ages. Starts with a short act of worship at 7pm, food at 7.30pm, music 8-10pm. Sung Mass for Ash Wednesday at St Mary’s
A special service, including the imposition of ashes, to mark the beginning of Lent. Guest Preacher: Revd Connie Sherman, University Chaplain. The choir of St Mary’s sing a traditional service of Choral Evensong which is followed by Benediction. Introit – Moles, Hail Easter Bright; Smith Responses; Psalm 105; Canticles – Stanford in C; Anthem – O Sons & Daughters, Walford Davies; Howells, O Salutaris Hostia. Benediction with the Blessed Sacrament, is a time of adoration in front of the Sacrament which concludes with the congregation being blessed by it.

The St Mary’s May Fayre
The Annual Community Fayre & celebration of life in Fratton is held in the church & grounds each May Bank Holiday Monday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Each year around 10,000 visitors enjoy this event with its variety of attractions – Real Ale Tent; Arena displays; Morris dancers; Bouncy Castle; Bands; Funfair rides & much more.
