Epiphanytide celebration of Music, Carols and Readings at St Mary’s

Sung Mass for Candlemas with Guest Preacher at St Mary’s
A service to celebrate the “Light to lighten the Nations”. At St Mary’s the quest preacher is Revd Sally Davenport, Holy Trinity Fareham. Did you know that the Christmas season officially ends this weekend? Organ Project Recital – David Oldfield at St Mary’s
Our 2020 monthly Organ Recital series continues with a recital given by David Oldfield (St Luke’s, Whyteleafe). Please do join us for a glass of wine and listen to the fantastic J.W. Walker & Sons pipe organ in St Mary’s Church, Portsea. The recitalist in the organ loft is instantaneously projected onto a large screen which makes for gripping viewing! A morning of refreshments and competitions to mark St Valentine’s day. Funds raised will go to support the British Heart Foundation.

A chance to enjoy a light lunch. The money raised will be used to support a charity. Lunch costs £2.50 and usually consists of soup (with a vegetarian option), a bread and cheese main followed by a pudding.

Ordination of Revd Marcus Collie at St Mary’s
The Bishop will ordain Rev’d Marcus as a Priest at St Mary’s on Sunday March 8th at 4pm. An important service for all involved with St Mary’s parish, all are welcome at this special occasion. Note that the 10am service at St Mary’s that day will be a said Eucharist with hymns.

This probably won’t come as a huge surprise but the Royal Marines have decided to postpone their concert next week, scheduled for St. Mary’s Church on Thursday 26 March 2020. This is a postponement rather than a cancellation. At some point they plan to perform this concert.
