Messy Mothering at St Wilfrid’s
A morning of craft, activities and fun exploring how we reflect the love of God for us in the way we care for others. The morning will end with a free lunch. Bring your Mum or those that care for you!

The St Mary’s May Fayre
The Annual Community Fayre & celebration of life in Fratton is held in the church & grounds each May Bank Holiday Monday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Each year around 10,000 visitors enjoy this event with its variety of attractions – Real Ale Tent; Arena displays; Morris dancers; Bouncy Castle; Bands; Funfair rides & much more. Easter Bunny Drive at St Faith’s
A fun seasonal variation on a Beetle Drive. Pay on the door. £2.50 each. All takings will go to Christian Aid.
Lunch Time Concert – Nadina String Quartet
The Nadina String Quartet perform A Musical Miscellany – a variety of music from across the years. Come and join us for a lunchtime concert, with music by the wonderful Nadina String Quartet. D-Day 75 Caen Twinning Concert
Concert to mark the 75th Anniversary of D-Day with a visiting choir from Caen called Veni, Vidi Canto, and also featuring: The St Mary’s Church Choir, The Fine Voice Academy, Miss Becki Short – 40s performer (and her entourage including the Oasis Community Choir), and The Haven Community Choir. Dickens Fellowship Service at St Mary’s
Join members of the local branch of the Dickens Fellowship in celebrating the anniversary of his death with a service and tea at the Church where he was baptised. Choral Evensong followed by Tea and readings from Dickens. Members of the public may join the Fellowship after the service for tea and also stay for the readings if they so wish.

Free Concert by Faye Clinton (Cello) at St Mary’s for the Music Foundation
Faye Clinton is a leading cellist in the Portsmouth area and we are very happy to welcome her for our next Music Foundation Concert. Faye studied at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama and also at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest. Edinburgh Woollen Mill Fashion Show at St Faith’s
With ladies and menswear, a light hearted and fun summer fashion show to appeal to everyone. The show is presented by the manageress of Edinburgh Woollen Mill, Southsea with “familiar” local models. There will be a 20% discount on any garments purchased at the show. Tickets are £5 and profits will go to Portsea Parish church funds. We are very sorry that St Mary’s Walker organ is playing up again, and needs repair. We have been forced to cancel the organ recital on Thursday. But you can still book a tour of the organ at https://www.theorganproject.org/organ-tours .

Love Our Oceans / Messy Blue at St Mary’s
Free climate change event, 10am – 12pm, with lots of activities for children and lots for adults too! Displays by Greenpeace, Christian Aid, Fairtrade and many others. Speakers from A Rocha and Wildlife Trust including Meric Srokosz of the National Oceanography Centre and author of “Blue Planet, Blue God”. Music for a Summer Afternoon, Strawberry Tea & Tower Open at St Mary’s
From 1:30 pm until 4 pm Music in the Church Yard The Music Foundation present Music for a Summer Afternoon. A selection of musicians perform works in the Church yard including brass music, choral music and other instrumentalists. Our 2019 Organ Recital series continues with a recital given by Sachin Gunga (Sub-Organist, Portsmouth Cathedral). The recitalist in the organ loft is relayed instantaneously to a large screen which makes for gripping viewing! The whole Parish come together to join Bishop Christopher as he confirms candidates from St James Milton as well as those from our Parish. There will be no morning Eucharist service at St Faith’s nor St Wilfrid’s this Sunday.
